What is Remote Teller?

Remote Teller, is an innovative payment solution that allows you to make deposits electronically when it is convenient for you, without ever leaving your place of business. Simply scan the checks you receive through the Remote Teller scanner and transmit the deposit using a secure web connection. The funds are generally available to you the next business day.

What is the cost of Remote Teller?

Remote Teller costs slightly more than a $1 per day. Please contact a Business Banker for current pricing.

Do I still need to endorse the checks?

Yes, your checks should be endorsed before you scan them.

What happens to the checks after I scan them?

When a check is scanned using Remote Teller, images of the front and back of the check are taken. These images will be sent as a file (Image Replacement Document or IRD as part of the Check 21 Act) and the checks will be processed as if there were paper checks brought into the bank. You are required to keep the physical checks in a secure location for at least 60 days. After that time, they may be destroyed using a cross-cut shredder.

Will I have access to the check images after I deposit them through the scanner?

After a check has been scanned, the images are available to you on the Remote Teller SmartPay Portal for 2 years. After that time, you will have to contact Town and Country Bank's Solution Center to retrieve the images.

What is the cut-off time for processing the checks?

Checks may be deposited at any time of the day, however if you would like them to be processed with today's work, they must be submitted by 6:00 p.m. CST.

Will I be able to find a specific customer or check once it has been processed?

The Remote Teller SmartPay Portal makes it easy to search for individuals or transactions. Simply choose the type of search you want to conduct and the system does the rest.

Are reports available for research purposes?

Several different reports are available on the Remote Teller SmartPay Portal. These reports can be customized for your specific purposes.

How does Remote Teller work?

Instead of mailing or bringing your deposits to a Town and Country Bank branch, use Remote Teller from your desk! Once you have been approved, all you have to do is log into the Remote Teller SmartPay Portal and follow the easy steps.

Can all checks be deposited via Remote Teller?

All checks are eligible to be deposited using Remote Deposit Capture as long as they are drawn on a United States bank and have a fully encoded MICR line. International checks are not eligible.
