Scott Garwood graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture in 1999 and received his degree in law from the University of Illinois Juris Doctor Program in 2002. After graduating, Scott joined Samuels Miller Law Firm in Decatur, Illinois, where he’s worked for the last 19 years. He concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of business and commercial law, municipal law, probate and wills, and trusts and estate planning.
Scott is a member of the Illinois, Decatur, and Macon County Bar Associations and was the past president of the Central Illinois Estate Planning Council. He previously served as a board member for several organizations, including Webster-Cantrell Hall and Heritage Behavioral Health Center, Inc. Currently, he serves as a board member for St. Teresa High School. He additionally served for the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce, where his term ended in July 2021.
