Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, Louis H Dixon graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1978. Upon graduation, he began his professional engineering career with Collins and Rice Engineering and joined Crawford, Murphy, and Tilly, Inc. (CMT), a multi-disciplined civil engineering company, in June of 1979. Lou served in multiple capacities at CMT and was a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. In 2006 he was elected to CMT’s Board of Directors where he served in the role of Senior Vice President and Director of Surface Transportation, overseeing nearly 100 transportation professionals in 5 states, until his retirement in 2019.
Lou was a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and served as the Chair in 2012, Island Bay Yacht Club, and Christ Episcopal Church. He was elected to the Town and Country Banc Mortgage Services Inc Board of Directors in 1993 and continues to serve as a Director of Town and Country Financial Corporation.
