Mark O. Roberts, Jr. is Re-Elected to the Board of Directors and Acknowledged for 45 Years of Service
SPRINGFIELD, IL – Mark O. Roberts, Jr. was acknowledged for his 45 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors with Town and Country Bank during the corporation’s annual meeting on Thursday, April 25.
Serving as a Director of Town and Country Bank from 1974 through the present, Roberts also served as a Director for Town and Country Financial Corporation and other affiliated entities over the years. Throughout Roberts’ tenure, the company’s assets have increased from approximately $25 million to nearly $800 million, its profits have grown over 4,000%, its equity capital is 45 times as large, and it has completed seven acquisitions.
“On behalf of the Board of the Directors, I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for Mark’s significant accomplishments and contributions to this organization and his continuing service into the future,” said David Kirschner, Executive Chairman, during the annual meeting of the corporation.
“Roberts is a supportive director providing sound governance by contributing his business and investment perspectives for the company’s benefit,” added Kirschner.
Roberts has more than five decades as an insurance executive. He served as President and CEO of Standard Mutual Insurance Company and as President and CEO of Stancorp, Inc.
“Town and Country’s shareholders, customers, and employees have benefited from Mark’s knowledge and expertise within this industry,” said Micah Bartlett, President and CEO. “Not only has Mark been an excellent director, but Mark’s positive and down to earth style has also contributed to our culture.”
Roberts holds a CPCU designation and an MBA from the University of Illinois – Champaign. He served on the American Red Cross board of directors and established the Roberts Family Fund at the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln.
Roberts was re-elected to the company’s board at the annual meeting, along with the following directors: Micah Bartlett, John Cobb, Lou Dixon, Don Evans, David Kirschner, and Bart Solon.
