How to Bank Virtually from Home

6/26/2020

SHARE

For ease and safety, many customers now prefer to bank from their home or phone as much as possible. Town and Country Bank and Peoples Prosperity Bank has several free and secure ways to do your banking without coming to a branch building, while still giving you great customer service.

“We want to develop relationships with our customers, even customers that utilize our digital banking services exclusively,” says Shelly Dowell, Senior Vice President, Director of Marketing.  “We created a digital banking assistant named Alvy, which means ‘intelligent and noble friend,’ to help our customers with virtual banking.”

Download Alvy on the home page of the bank's website or directly from the Apple’s App Store or Google Play, to access virtual banking services on your phone or other mobile device. To conduct banking through your laptop or computer, enroll in online banking through Town and Country Bank here.

Town and Country Bank is always looking at new technology to help customers. If you are a current bank customer, here are ways you can bank online or through a mobile device for free:

Deposit Checks

Use Alvy and a device (like a cell phone) with a camera to deposit a check remotely. You must write – legibly – on the back of the check: “For mobile deposit only.” If the system can’t read your handwriting, it won’t accept the check, so write clearly. Then take a photo of the front and back of the check to submit it.

Make Transfers

You can transfer money between accounts (i.e. between savings and checking accounts) online or through your mobile device.

Pay Bills

Town and Country Bank offers a service that pays your bills electronically, either one-at-a-time, or you can set up recurring payments. Enter the bills you would like to pay virtually, so you don’t have to write a check and put it in the mail. Your bills will be paid through your account. You can schedule the payments in advance and make sure they are received on time.

Account Housekeeping

Check your balance, your transactions, and view your statements online, as well.

Open an Account

Use your laptop to open an account, such as a checking account or apply for a loan, through this link. You won’t have to come into the bank to complete the process.

Apply for a Mortgage

Currently, the entire application process for a home mortgage can be completed online. By the end of August, the bank hopes to have the mortgage closing process entirely electronic, too, so involved parties won’t have to come into the bank to complete it. Apply for a home loan today.

Safety Tips

Don’t use public Wi-Fi to complete any banking services. Some scammers steal your account info this way. Keep your virtual banking passwords safe; even better, change them frequently. If you receive a text alert from your bank and you didn’t sign up for banking texts, do not open it until you’ve called the bank to confirm they sent it.
