Logan County Bank - Lincoln, IL
2009 marks the 48th anniversary of Logan County Bank – founded in 1961 and still using our original name. The Bank was started by five local businessmen, Leroy Allison, John I. Smith, Norman Muck, Luther Dearborn, and John Charter who were issued a permit to organize the Bank from the Office of Financial Institutions-State of Illinois on May 4, 1961. The Bank opened in early 1962 upon completion of the new building. A Bank that began with one location and initial capital of $400,000, has grown to $75 million in assets and is a multi-location leader in community banking. The Bank attributes much of its success to its employees, customer service, and ongoing commitment to community service - the foundation of community banking.
Logan County Bank has come a long way and times have changed since 1961. The Bank was an innovator, staffing the first Trust Department in Logan County and specializing in estate planning and farm management. In 1961, Logan County had a population of approximately 34,000, compared to 31,000 today. Despite the decline in population over the past 45 years, the Bank has continued to grow, and is now second in market share among banks in Logan County.
Officially opened in 1962, the original Bank was located at 303-309 Pulaski Street, where it remains today. It started as a 3,300 square foot facility. Over the years, drive-up lanes were added, as well as additions to the original facility, to accommodate the bank’s growth. In 1976 the property at 809 Woodlawn Road, formerly “Jerry’s Hamburgers” was acquired, and transformed into a bank branch, complete with drive-up lanes.
In September of 1985, the bank was acquired by Town and Country Financial Corporation, becoming one of four community banks within the holding company. The two organizations shared a common philosophy – a common desire to make banking easy by offering innovative products and services through knowledgeable and helpful bankers. Logan County Bank today remains a locally owned community bank and maintains the focus on customer service and community support.
More recently (July 11, 1009), Town and Country Financial Corporation joined the branch in Buffalo with the b ranches in Lincoln. This strategy was designed in an effort to better serve the different needs of our customers.

Town & Country Bank – Buffalo, IL established in 1911 as Farmers State Bank. There were 37 stockholders with $25,000 in total capital stock. In March of 1984, Farmers State Bank was acquired by Town & Country Bancorp, Inc. (now known as Town and Country Financial Corporation) and retained its independent community bank status. The Bank attributes much of its success to its employees, customer service, and ongoing commitment to community service - the foundation of community banking.
More recently (July 11, 1009), Town and Country Financial Corporation joined the branch in Buffalo with the branches in Lincoln. This strategy was designed in an effort to better serve the different needs of our customers.
