About Us – Town & Country Bank
Buffalo, Forsyth, and Mt. Zion, Illinois

Town & Country Bank – Buffalo, Forsyth & Mt. Zion was established in 1911 in Buffalo, Illinois as Farmers State Bank.  There were 37 stockholders with $25,000 in total capital stock.  In March of 1984, Farmers State Bank was acquired by Town & Country Bancorp, Inc. (now known as Town and Country Financial Corporation) and retained its independent community bank status.  Believing in the value of strong local banking, a branch of Associated Bank was acquired in 2000 in Mt. Zion, Illinois with assets of $9 million.  In 2004, the Bank continued its expansion into the Decatur market by opening a new branch in Forsyth.  The Bank attributes much of its success to its employees, customer service, and ongoing commitment to community service - the foundation of community banking.  Assets have grown from $24 million to over $67 million with the help of nearly 20 employees at their three convenient branches.

J. Bruce Moore, Town & Country Bank – Buffalo, Forsyth & Mt. Zion’s President and CEO joined the Bank in November 2006.  He brings to this bank 20+ years of commercial banking experience, leadership and team building abilities that will grow the bank over time.  Bruce holds a real estate license and insurance license which will be beneficial to the company and his customers as we promote the sale of insurance through our newest affiliate Town & Country Insurance Services, LLC.

Bruce is also involved with the community.  He is Vice-Chairman of Community Investment Corporation of Decatur and assistant basketball coach for the St. Teresa’s girls’ basketball team.
